BPC-157, short for Body Protection Compound-157, is a 15-amino-acid peptide. It is best known in the repair category because it interacts with signals involved in tissue response, blood-flow formation, collagen activity, gut-barrier integrity, and inflammation balance.

People look at BPC-157 because it sits at the centre of the repair-peptide conversation. The main interest is around tendon, ligament, muscle, gut lining, connective tissue, and general tissue-response biology.

BPC-157 appears to influence several repair signals at once: angiogenesis, which is the formation of new blood vessels; collagen-related activity, which matters for connective tissue; inflammation balance; and gut-barrier signalling. In plain terms, it is interesting because it touches multiple systems the body uses when tissue is under stress.

BPC-157 is frequently compared with TB-500. BPC-157 is usually framed around local repair, gut, and connective-tissue response, while TB-500 is more associated with cell migration and broader tissue remodelling.
